What this service covers
If you are working on a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, the Planning Act 2008 places specific obligations on you before you can submit your application. Two of those obligations involve getting information physically into the hands of people who live near the proposed project.
That is the part we handle: the physical, door-to-door distribution of your consultation materials, publicity notices, and supporting documents. Tracked, confirmed, and completed within your required window. This sits alongside our standard leaflet distribution service, which covers commercial and residential campaigns across the region.
The distribution area for an NSIP consultation is defined by the project itself, not by standard postcode boundaries. A pipeline route, a solar farm, or a bypass scheme may cross through rural land, villages, and the edges of larger towns. We plan the distribution to match whatever geography your Statement of Community Consultation specifies, including areas outside our usual coverage zone where the project boundary demands it.
Timelines on this kind of work are typically set by the consultation schedule. If you have a window within which all materials must be delivered, that is what we plan around. We will confirm whether the timeline is achievable before committing, and if the distribution area or volume makes it tight, we say so upfront rather than overpromising and underdelivering.
Section 47 consultation
Your Statement of Community Consultation sets out how you will consult people living near the proposed project land. Once the SoCC is finalised (after the local authority has had its 28-day response window), we distribute the consultation materials exactly as the statement requires.
Section 48 publicity
The applicant must publicise the proposed application in the prescribed manner. Where that includes physical notices to residents and stakeholders, we handle the distribution, making sure the publicity notice reaches every required address before your stated deadline.

For statutory consultations, the record of what was delivered is as important as the delivery itself. After the distribution is complete, we provide confirmation covering the areas distributed, the dates of completion, and any properties where access was restricted. This documentation supports your application file and gives your planning consultant the evidence they need to demonstrate compliance with the consultation requirements.
If the project requires multiple rounds of distribution, for example an initial notification followed by reminder materials or updated consultation documents, each round is tracked and documented separately. We keep everything organised so you are not pulling together records from different sources when the application is being assembled.
